Carolyn Joan Caldwell, 91, of Powhatan Point, passed away on Wednesday, April 19, 2023, at Emerald Point Nursing Home, Barnesville.

She was born April 3, 1932, in Beallsville, a daughter of the late Lloyd and Laura Decker Hamilton.

Carolyn was a former employee of the Barnesville Sewing Factory and retired from Woodsfield Rehabilitation Center and a member of Beallsville Church of Christ. She was a former member of Beallsville 24, Order of Eastern Star.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Dale E. Caldwell in 2021; and a brother, John Hamilton.

Surviving are her children, Randy Dale (Lori) Caldwell, of Powhatan Point, and Marla Renee (Ron) Akridge, of New Philadelphia; three grandchildren, Luke (Stephanie) Caldwell, Rhea (Vince) Pittman and Bethany (Jason Bischof) Caldwell; five great-grandchildren, Gracee Caldwell, Kalisha Caldwell, Emmalynn Pittman, Ian Pittman, Simon Bischof and a baby boy Bischof due in July; a sister, Nancy Garrison, of Beallsville; and two brothers, Jerry (Nadine) Hamilton, of Beallsville, and Jim (Juanita) Hamilton, of Barnesville.

Family and friends were received Sunday, April 23, 2023, Toothman Funeral Home, Jacobsburg. Funeral services were held Monday, April 24, 2023, with Pastor Jeff Horner officiating. Burial followed in Powhatan Cemetery.
