Monroe Theatre News

The multitude of events and programming at the Monroe Theatre brings it careening into the close of 2022. This momentum gathered throughout the year with new and varied entertainment options, as well as audience favorites. All of this took place in the midst of infrastructure changes and capital improvements. With 2023 programming not finalized and yet another capital improvement waiting in the wings, who knows what 2023 holds?

Congratulations to Eric and Devery Turner on the birth of their daughter Maxine Jane Turner on Tuesday, Nov. 8. She weighed 8 pounds, 5 ounces and was 20 inches long. Grandparents are Mike and Monica Turner, of West Jefferson, and John and Joann Scott, of Mt. Vernon, and great-grandmother is Ila Turner, of Clarington. Maxine was welcomed home by her two-year-old twin sisters Josephine and Evelyn.

Hillbilly night at the Monroe Theater again Tuesday. Red Belcher and his Kentucky Ridge Runners, featuring Reed Dunn and other WWVA stars are expected to present an amusingly different program, and a lot of fun is anticipated by the appearance of “Cousin Elmer,” the troop’s comedian.
