Monroe County’s Halloweeniest Family

If you’re looking for the spookiest family in Monroe County, you won’t find the Addams. You won’t find the Munsters either. Now both iconic TV families had a certain fright factor, especially when you consider that one included a Frankenstein and a pair of Draculas, but that has nothing on one Monroe County crew. The family in Monroe County that embodies the Spirit of Halloween almost more than the store is Sue Smith, her children Marlena Kress and Josh Merckle, and granddaughter Aubrey Kress. Each year Sue, Marlena, Josh and Aubrey delight the county with their themed Halloween costumes - and this year was no exception.Decked out as characters from “Beetlejuice,” they were an easy pick for judges as the annual Woodsfield Halloween Parade winners for the Best Group award.Sue was almost unrecognizable as Beetlejuice himself, donning the striped black and white suit with scares and white face paint to match.Josh and Aubrey took on the roles of Adam and Barbara, only not in their regular outfits they walked home from the car crash in.
