The late Kenneth “Kenny” Fuchs loved carpentry. His main job throughout most his life was working in the coalmines, but creating with wood was his passion.Throughout his life, Fuchs amassed a collection of some of the best tools to help him create with.Though he is no longer with us, having passed away March 8, 2024, his wife, Dixie Fuchs, wanted to make sure his legacy and passion lived on.Through a generous donation, Swiss Hills Career Center students will get to share in her husband’s passion and do so on some of the best equipment possible.Dixie Fuchs, in a gesture meant to inspire district students to develop their own passion for carpentry, donated several pieces of equipment to the Switzerland of Ohio Local School District (SOLSD), including a table saw, a drill press, a shaper and a jointer, all, according to Switzerland of Ohio Local School District Career Readiness Advisor Mark Romick, “top of the line and clean as can be.” “(Kenny Fuchs) was meticulous in his work,” Romick said.
