Friday afternoon was a perfect day for some tie-dye fun – and to learn something as the Monroe Central FFA held its Fair Workshops at the Pavilion at the Monroe County Fairgrounds. For the third straight year, close to 200 area children cycled in and out of the workshop, participating in a variety of educational activities.Under the direction of Monroe Central FFA members and supporters and staff from the Monroe Soil and Water Conservation District, the children participated in four different events. The Monroe Central FFA brought back its tie-dye workshop this year, creating fun T-shirts for the many children who participated. But they didn’t leave with just T-shirts.Other interesting activities included a wildlife station, where children learned about furs and did stencils of animal tracks.Just down from there, children enjoyed making flower jars and bud vases. The event was no only a great way to educate area children about outdoor and agricultural activities; it’s also a chance for FFA members to share what the group has to offer.
