Area track teams were back in action for the Mid-Ohio Valley League Championship Monday, April 15 at Shadyside.River’s Brandon Miller won two individual events, taking first in the 100 (11.38) and 200 (23.59).Also for River, Wyatt Stalder was second in the 100.In relays, River boys won the 4 x 100 in 45.60 and were fourth in the 4 x 400.For Monroe Central, Samuel Comstock was fourth in the shot.For the girls, Monroe Central’s Bayleigh Burdette was second in the long jump and Mayzie Emery third in the 100 and 200For River, Brooke Huffman was third in the 100 hurdlesRiver won the shuttle hurdle relay in 1:15.99 and took third in the 4 x 400.Area teams returned to Shadyside Tuesday, April 16 for the second Ohio Valley Track League meet.Monroe Central’s Tyler Whitacre won the high jump (5-6)Also for the Seminoles, Evan Knowlton took second in the 100, Comstock fourth in the shot and Trenton Cooper fourth in the long jump.In relays, Monroe Central was third in the 4 x 100.River’s Kabel Isaly was second in the 200 and 400.Also for the Pilots, Peyton Weese was second in the discus and Aiden Milhoan fourth in the 300 hurdles.In relays, River was second in the 4 x 100 and 4 x 800, third in the 4 x 200.Emery again had a good day, taking second in the 100 and 200.Also for Monroe Central Burdette was third in the 400 and high jump.In relays, Monroe Central was fourth in the 4 x 200.For River, Mallory Brake won the 300 hurdles in 53.10.Also for River, Maci Isaly was second in the 300 hurdles and fourth in the 100 hurdles, Huffman second in the 100 hurdles, Isis Nichols second in the long jump and Kara Miller fourth in the 200.Also for River, Kara Miller was fourth in the 200 and Maci Isaly fourth in the 100 hurdles.In relays, River won the shuttle hurdles in 1:16.36.
