Monroe Central junior quarterback Tucker Howell was a big part of the Seminoles’ turnaround this season.He helped Monroe Central pick up seven wins, including a home playoff win.Howell’s efforts were noticed by those outside of Monroe County has he was named the Division VII co-offensive player of the year alongside Malvern’s Jared Witherow and Caldwell’s Cale Bender.Honored players were selected by members of the East District of the Ohio Prep Sportswriters Association.Howell was also named to the Division VII, first team offense at quarterback.He wasn’t the only Seminole to claim first team recognition.Senior Carter Knowlton was selected to the first team offense at wide receiver and senior Dalton Phillips was named to the first team defense at linebacker.Senior Landen Lydick was named to the second team offense at tight end.Also for Monroe Central, honorable mention went to Clint Rader, Tyler Whitacre, Cooper Howell and Ashton Lumbatis.River had two first team selections.
