Round up a team of four and come to the Show Barn on Friday, August 26th at 1:00 p.m. to play volleyball with a twist. You cannot see your opponent or use a real volleyball. So prepare to get wet during the Junior Fairboard sponsored Water Balloon Volleyball.

A cow dressed as a vampire?! A rabbit in a princess costume?! That is what you could see at the Show Barn on Friday, August 26th! The Animal Dress – Up Contest will begin at 3:30. The categories are: Prettiest, Funniest, Most Original, Best Animal Impersonating Another Animal, Best Character (cartoon, etc..), and Best Overall. Winners in each category will receive a prize. Trophies will be given to the overall 1st place and 2nd place winners, sponsored by Francis J. Paulus Insurance Agency of Woodsfield and PTEK Services LLC of Woodsfield, respectively.

On Friday, August 26th at 2:30 pm, the Junior Fairboard will be hosting some fun activities for kids between the ages of 5 and 8 in the Rabbit and Poultry Barn. These activities will follow the Cloverbud Graduation Ceremony at 2:00 pm for all youth who will be moving up from Cloverbuds to 4-H next year.
Monroe Central continues to have a deep roster for its golf team.
During the 2022 Monroe County Fair, the Junior Fairboard will be participating in the “Fight the Hunger, Stock the Trailer” challenge sponsored by Farm Credit Mid-America and Rural 1st. Fairgoers will have an opportunity to donate nonperishable food items during fair week which will then be donated to local food banks in the county. The challenge is held in counties across Ohio and the Junior Fairboard can win cash prizes based on the total pounds of food donated. So be on the lookout for the donation trailer during the fair and bring donations of non-perishable foods to help us feed those in need!
