Charles “Chuck” Safreed, 81, of near Antioch, passed away Saturday, July 1, 2023, at Stellar Care Center, Woodsfield. 

He was born Oct. 18, 1941, a son of the late Frank and Leona Shook Safreed.

Chuck graduated from Woodsfield High School in 1959. He retired from Ormet Corporation and was a faithful member of the Unity Baptist Church. He coached Midway baseball teams and loved the outdoors.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Donald (Shirley) Safreed; sister-in-law, Bonnie (Gene) Ludolph; sister-in-law, Mary Lou Frieden; and niece Gina Ludolph.

He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Linda Frieden Safreed; two sons, Kevin (Kim) Safreed and Kalen (Tina) Safreed, and daughter Tammy Beaver; grandchildren, Jimmy (Danielle) Beaver, Jordan Safreed and Kaleigh and Kynzie Safreed; great-grandchildren, Connor and Gracie Safreed and McKenna Beaver; also sister-in-law, Brenda (Paul) Rosenlieb; brother-in-law, Gale (Darlene) Frieden; and several nieces and nephews.

Friends were received Sunday July 2, 2023, at the Bauer-Turner Funeral Home, Woodsfield, where funeral services were held Monday July 3, 2023, with Pastor Rick Headley officiating. Burial followed in the Unity Baptist Church Cemetery near Antioch.
