Connie L. Kavalieros

Connie L. Kavalieros, age 76, of Westerville, formerly of Woodsfield, passed away peacefully on July 18, 2023, at St. Ann’s Hospital after a four-week battle with COVID-19.

Connie was born on a small dairy farm in Woodsfield, on June 24, 1947, to the late Frederick and Margaret Schumacher. 

Connie worked as a Registered Nurse for 45 years, tirelessly serving the Westerville community for the last 25 years of her career. She loved spending time with her family and friends, cooking, planting flowers, traveling, reading, dancing, antiquing and watching MSNBC. Connie gave unconditionally to others. The most important people in her life were her family and close friends.

Those left to cherish Connie’s memory include her son, Todd Kavalieros; her daughter, Teri (Kavalieros) Metz, and her husband, Mark; her son, Chris Kavalieros, and his wife, Andrea; four beloved grandchildren, Austin, Kristin, Lincoln and Hartwell; and her sisters, Patty and Linda. 

She was preceded in death by her parents and her former husband, Tony Kavalieros.

Family and friends were received Saturday, July 22, 2023, at the Bauer-Turner Funeral Home, 100 S. Paul St., Woodsfield. Mass of Christian Burial followed at the St. Sylvester Catholic Church, 330 S. Main St., Woodsfield, with Fr. Timothy Davison as celebrant. Burial followed in the St. Sylvester Catholic Church Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers the Kavalieros family asks that memorial contributions be made to UPMC Scleroderma Center, 3601 Fifth Ave., 2b, Pittsburgh, PA 15213 and/or Ohio State Kidney Transplant Center.
