Three recoveries leave the county with two active cases
Monroe County is down to two active COVID-19 cases after three cases were classified as recovered during the week of Sept. 29 to Oct. 2.
There were two new confirmed cases of COVID-19 for the week, giving the county 113 total confirmed and probable cases.
Of that total, 95 are designated as recovered and 16 have died as a result of the virus.
As active cases remain low in the county, students were able to return to the classroom at the Beallsville Campus Monday, Oct. 5. The school went to remote learning for two weeks due to a positive case at the school that was discovered Tuesday, Sept. 22.
While numbers have remained steady in Monroe County, our neighbors to the west, Noble County, avoided a major outbreak with numbers remaining low.
That changed in the past few weeks as numbers nearly doubled.
Currently the county has 24 active cases. Of the county’s 48 total probable and confirmed cases, 12 are associated with the Noble Correctional Instution.
