Ohio’s natural gas and oil industry joined together to help first responders, hospital workers, and school districts by donating meals, technology, and personal protective equipment, the Ohio Oil and Gas Energy Education Program (OOGEEP) and Ohio Oil and Gas Association (OOGA) announced last week.
Until recently, music teacher and homeschooler Kelsey McBride, of Lewisville, offered in-person piano and ukulele lessons. She had 15 regular students that came to her home individually and in groups. She also collaborated with other homeschoolers in a loosely-structured local homeschooling cooperative.
“We’re spraying everything down, disinfecting high traffic areas and ourselves,” Monroe County Public Transportation (MCPT) driver Victor Pittman described the increased safety protocols on the buses.
“I just want to get back to normal,” said Ken Phillips, co-coordinator for the Beallsville Mobile Market. “But I think we’re several weeks away from being normal.”
The Monroe County Health Department reported the first positive cases of coronavirus (COVID-19) in two Monroe County residents Saturday, April 4.
Mid-may is a time of celebration around Beallsville.
“You still have a feeling and the yearning to assemble (in worship),” said Scott Hagan. “Doing this may continue that feeling because we’re not able to do that in our home churches.”
The Monroe County Commissioners and Monroe County Job and Family Services took steps to make sure low-income residents in need during the COVID-19 pandemic have the funding they need.
Ohio Governor Mike DeWine announced that Ohio's Stay at Home order has been extended until 11:59 p.m. on May 1.
