David Wilson, 77, of Barnesville, passed away Tuesday, Sept. 5, 2023, in Barnesville Hospital, the same hospital in which he was born on July 31, 1946 to Charles “Dutch” and Alice Moore Wilson who resided in Jerusalem.
David had been a resident of the Walton Retirement Home in Barnesville for more than 25 years. A graduate of Beallsville High School Class of 1964, in his youth David enjoyed watching Beallsville Blue Devils basketball and also shooting baskets with other neighborhood kids at the former Jerusalem School. He was an avid Ohio State Buckeyes, Pittsburgh Pirates and Cleveland Guardians fan. He will be remembered for his kind, gentle spirit and his easy smile.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his twin brothers, Robert and Richard Wilson, an infant brother, Donald, and a sister-in-law, Jean Wilson.
Left to cherish his memory are his sister-in-law, Eleanor Wilson, of Jerusalem; three nephews, Chuck Wilson, of Cameron, Mark Wilson, of Orville, and Brad Wilson, of Jerusalem; a niece, Cathy Christy, of Delaware; also his family at the Walton Retirement Home.
Visitation and funeral services were held Saturday, Sept. 9, 2023, at the Walton Home with Pastor Jean Cooper officiating. Burial followed in Jerusalem Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made in David’s name to the Walton Retirement Home, 1254 East Main St., Barnesville, OH 43713.
