DOLORES “DEE” KENDEL

 Dolores “Dee” Kendel, 91, of Clarington died Wednesday, November 8 in the Arbors of Woodsfield. She was born April 1, 1932, in Akron, a daughter of the late Paul Anderson and Juanita Smith. Dee was employed as a medical transcriptionist at St. Thomas Hospital in Akron and she was a member of American Legion Post 768 Auxiliary, Beallsville. She was a Catholic by faith. Dee was on a bowling league for years and she enjoyed going to yard sales and camping. She loved collecting cookbooks; one of her favorite pastimes was cooking for and with her family. She will be remembered as a caregiver to all. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph “Joe” Kendel Sr.; a son, Joseph Kendel Jr.; and a brother, Bill Anderson. Left to honor her memory are a daughter, Sherry (Steve) Kemp of Beallsville; two sons, Mark (Debbie) Kendel and Daniel (Danielle) Kendel, both of Akron; a brother, Stephen Smith of Akron; her beloved dog, Toby; 10 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, and five great great-grandchildren. Private funeral services will be held Tuesday, November 14 at Wilson Funeral Home, Harper Chapel, Beallsville and burial will follow in Beallsville Cemetery.
