Etta Wells Burkhart, 57, of Jerusalem passed away Tuesday, May 21 in the home that she loved surrounded by family. She was born December 9, 1966, in Barnesville Hospital, a daughter of the late Rollie and Florence Christman Wells. Etta was happiest simply spending time with family. Watching her hummingbirds that visited each summer and making daily batches of nectar for her “friends” not only kept her busy but provided her with hours of contentment. In addition to her parents, Etta was preceded in death by an infant brother, Clesson Wells and her four-legged baby, Copper. Left to cherish her memory are her devoted husband of 37 years, Terry Burkhart; a daughter and son-in-law, Chasidy and Josh Pittman of Beallsville; a son, Derek Burkhart of Columbus; a brother and sister-in-law, Keith and Barb Wells of Barnesville; also Kelly and Jeff VanDyne of Beallsville, and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Visitation was held at Wilson Funeral Home, Harper Chapel, Beallsville, May 24 where funeral services were held May 25 with Wayne Clark officiating. Burial followed in St. John the Baptist Cemetery near Miltonsburg.
