Evelyn Marlee Crum, age 82, of Caldwell, died Monday, Dec. 19, 2022, at Altercare Summit Acres.

She was born Nov. 13, 1940, in Marietta, daughter of the late John Parker and Lottie Opal Morrison Crum.

Evelyn attended Elk Local High School. She lived at home and helped her parents on the family farm, where she cared for her parents as well as her brother, Carlos. She had a green thumb and until recently raised a huge garden. She was a member of the Crum Ridge Church of Christ. She was a devoted Christian who rarely missed a service. Evelyn enjoyed picking wild berries, taking care of animals, and cooking meals for others. If you stopped by her home you were always invited to eat. She had a wonderful sense of humor.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by an infant sister, Helena Opal Crum; two brothers, John Carlos Crum and Vernon Woodrow Crum; one niece, Anya Huie; and one nephew, Steve Martin.

Surviving are her siblings, Eva Bettinger, Ellen Martin, and Larry Crum, all of Caldwell; a sister-in-law, Faith Crum of Caldwell; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Friends were received Monday, Dec. 26, 2022, at McVay-Perkins Funeral Home, 416 East St., Caldwell. The funeral service was observed Tuesday, Dec. 27, 2022, at the Crum Ridge Church of Christ with Brent Smith and Sam Bartrug officiating. Burial followed at Crum Ridge Cemetery.
