Frances Evelyn “Jackie” Brooks, age 91 of Woodsfield, passed away Thursday, March 30, 2023, at Arbors at Woodsfield Nursing Home, Woodsfield.

She was born Aug. 1, 1931, in Sardis, daughter of the late John and Florence Mae (Carr) Hartman.

She was Methodist by faith. Jackie loved to quilt and was a fabulous cook and baker that no one in the family could compare to.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Paul A. Brooks; a son, Earl Stephens; a daughter, Christine Trenkle, six sisters, Dorothy Rist, Helen Raper, Betty Hartman, Susie Schmidt, Mildred Harper and Emma Chick; and three brothers, George, William and Henry Hartman.

Survivors include a daughter, Toni Sue Weber, of Woodsfield; a son, Francis (Yvonne) Terrell Weber, of Sardis; five grandchildren, several step-grandchildren; several great grandchildren.

Family received friends on Monday, April 24, 2023, until time of service at Grisell Funeral Home, 37234 Mound St., Sardis.

Interment will be at the convenience of the family.
