Jennifer Haught, a kindergarten teacher at River Campus, can barely believe her eyes as River students perform chemistry experiments that change the state of matter right in front of them at COSI On Wheels’ Tuesday, Nov. 6 visit.

A collective wail went up from the rows of elementary schoolers seated in River Campus’s gymnasium Tuesday, Nov. 6, as Jessica Takos of COSI (Center of Science and Industry) dumped two chemicals into a bucket, mixed them around, and scooped out a giant handful of green slime.

Ed Frank, of American Legion Post 87, knows the importance of the sacrifice veterans made to their country.

He described it as “a blank check.”

For some it was only a year or two.

After years of steady participation, numbers started dropping off.

Young said his department would buy treat bags full of goodies for 300-400 kids.
