The cost estimate for the proposed new office building at the Monroe County Fairgrounds commenced Tuesday, Nov. 14 as a crucial part of its funding process.

River Sports 10/2/14

    The River Pilots football team headed to Zanesville, Friday night to face off against the Bishop Rosecrans. The Pilots won 16-6 with Joey Flannery throwing 6 for 11 for 116 yards. Flannery connected with Broc Cross for River’s only touchdown of the game. Colton Wright had an impressive game going three for three on field goal attempts.

Beallsville Sports 10/9/14

    The Beallsville Blue Devils (1-4) were at home Friday night to take on the Shadyside Tigers (5-0). It started with an interesting opening when the Air Evac helicopter delivered the game ball to the team captains:   Mickey Palmer, Robert Valentine, Tristan Palmer, and Zac Daugherty,  who received the ball shortly before kickoff.

Congratulations to George & Mildred Schnegg on their 65th Wedding Anniversary.  A family celebration dinner was held on Sept. 20th at the Masonic Hall in Clarington.  Also Happy Birthday to Mildred; it was also her birthday. Brothers, sisters, grandchildren, cousins and all of the children attended to help the make day special for George and Mildred.

My Train of Thoughts 10/9/14

    This past week it was my pleasure to run into a couple of ladies that I had not seen or talked to in many years. They both were popular and well liked and I enjoyed our moments of “catching up” I’ve never been to an Alumni Banquet nor do I feel a sense of loss from that. For me the moment we share conversations or a laugh or two is like icing on a cake.
