A Memorial for K-9 Deputy Nemo will be held Sunday, Nov. 18 at the Woodsfield Church of Christ at 860 Lewisville Rd., Woodsfield. Visitation will be held from 1 to 4 p.m. The service will follow visitation at 4 p.m. The memorial will be open to anyone wishing to give their last respects to K-9 Deputy Nemo.

A collective wail went up from the rows of elementary schoolers seated in River Campus’s gymnasium Tuesday, Nov. 6, as Jessica Takos of COSI (Center of Science and Industry) dumped two chemicals into a bucket, mixed them around, and scooped out a giant handful of green slime.

EMS/EMT hopefuls - now is your time!

Monroe County’s EMS squads need new members, and now is a really good time for people to get involved, said EMT Jarod Kiggans. The EMS squad membership is aging, which means the many EMTs (emergency medical technicians) who have been in service for a number of years will make great teachers and mentors for anyone looking to get into the program.

The Woodsfield P.T.O. held its first meeting of the year…with approximately one hundred people in attendance. Patrolman Clyde Pettit, of the Moundsville City Police Department, presented a very informative program on drug abuse which included a film entitled “Beyond LSD.”
