Monroe County voters had their voices heard Tuesday, Nov. 6 as the mid-term election was held.

In county races, voters chose familiar faces over up-and-coming challengers.

The 20-foot by 30-foot American Flag overlooks the Ohio River along State Route 7 near Sardis on the property of Guy and Jo Brown.

Heading south on State Route 7 near Sardis, it’s hard to miss the residence of Guy and Jo Brown.

As you near Fairway’s Riverside Golf Course, you’ll spy a sight of true patriotism on the hill on the opposite side of Route 7.

Chuck Bennett wins Match Game title

The weekly match game Thursday, Oct. 25 at Russell Family Bowling Center saw some great bowling once again. 

This week’s winner, Chuck Bennett, nearly rolled a perfect game during the qualifying round but came up short two pins on his last ball. 

While he came up short of a perfect game, Bennett was the week’s high-qualifier with a two-game score of 523.

Monroe County’s EMS squads need new members, and now is a really good time for people to get involved, said EMT Jarod Kiggans. The EMS squad membership is aging, which means the many EMTs (emergency medical technicians) who have been in service for a number of years will make great teachers and mentors for anyone looking to get into the program.
