Monroe County voters had their voices heard Tuesday, Nov. 6 as the mid-term election was held.

In county races, voters chose familiar faces over up-and-coming challengers.

The 20-foot by 30-foot American Flag overlooks the Ohio River along State Route 7 near Sardis on the property of Guy and Jo Brown.

Heading south on State Route 7 near Sardis, it’s hard to miss the residence of Guy and Jo Brown.

As you near Fairway’s Riverside Golf Course, you’ll spy a sight of true patriotism on the hill on the opposite side of Route 7.

Erma Jean Ackerman, 91, of Woodsfield, passed away Saturday, October 20, 2018, at Westwood Place Assisted Living in Woodsfield. She was born December 27, 1926, on Jackson Ridge, daughter of the late Ralph and Ora Bott Hamilton.

Dean “Bear” Gramlich, 78, of Beallsville, died Friday, October 19, 2018, in Barnesville Hospital surrounded by his loving family. He was born September 24, 1940, on the family farm near Jerusalem, the youngest child of the late Clay Dean Gramlich, Sr. and Gladys Fraley Gramlich Fair.

Lois Mae Bruce, 85, of Lewisville, passed away Saturday, October 20, 2018, at the Ohio Valley Medical Center in Wheeling, West Virginia.  She was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania on March 16, 1933, a daughter of the late Ernie and Wilhemina Gerstner Lache.

Richard Eugene Eddy Sr., 52, of Woodsfield, Ohio, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, October 17, 2018, at Wetzel County Hospital in New Martinsville, West Virginia.  He was born in New Martinsville April 7, 1966, to Betty Boston Merckle and Paul Eddy.

Christine Marie Dilts, 48, of Woodsfield, passed away Tuesday, October 16, at the Wetzel County Hospital, New Martinsville, West Virginia.

She was born in Fostoria on August 10, 1970, a daughter of James Burton Woodward of Whitehall, and Rebecca Sue Ray Willis, of Maine.

Myrna L. McCurdy Stovall, 87, of Woodsfield, passed away Sunday, October 21, 2018, at the Monroe County Care Center, in Woodsfield, to join our Lord in Heaven.

She was born in Woodsfield on February 25, 1931, a daughter of the late Charles Morton McCurdy and Cora Lucinda Walters McCurdy.
