They are awful busy this year, but Santa and Mrs. Claus made time to come to Monroe County Saturday, Dec. 2 to help area residents get in the Christmas spirit during the annual Monroe County Chamber of Commerce Christmas Festival.

Monroe County Engineer Amy Zwick met with the Monroe County Commissioners Monday, Dec. 4 regarding road repair access right of way agreements but spent the majority of the meeting trying to negotiate ways to keep the roads safe despite the lack of funding afforded by the new budget.

The Sardis CARES committee is currently selling a Christmas ornament with a lovely scene of two people riding in a sled down a snow-covered Mound Street in Sardis. The photo probably was taken around 1900. Little else is known of the photo, except that it came from the family collection of Theophilus Richardson.
