New Monroe County Treasurer Taylor Abbott isn’t long on the job, but he’s already looking to make an impact.

One of Abbott’s first goals is to address the large amounts of unpaid property taxes owed to the county.

A slight drizzle of raindrops greeted the New Mat Red Hats gals as they gathered at the United Methodist Church social room September 14. Di Evans had the tables all decorated with autumn decor; pumpkins, scarecrows, miniature hay bales, along with a tea towel placemat. Also the craft table was ready with paints and rocks. How we did paint!

Reunions 10/5/17

Greenbrier United Methodist Church is having its annual Homecoming on Sunday, Oct. 15. Pastor Bill Abrams will bring the message. The potluck meal is at 12:30 p.m. with the service to follow. Greenbrier is located on Co. Rd. 12, 4 mi. east of Graysville. All are welcome.

Village officials deal with residents’ complaint about construction work, increased utility fees

While Woodsfield Village Council had some concerns regarding its EPA-mandated sewer separation project answered when it received last minute funding from the USDA, it had some questions to answer about some of the sewer separation work its crews had recently finished during its regular meeting Monday, Oct. 2.
