They are awful busy this year, but Santa and Mrs. Claus made time to come to Monroe County Saturday, Dec. 2 to help area residents get in the Christmas spirit during the annual Monroe County Chamber of Commerce Christmas Festival.

Monroe County Engineer Amy Zwick met with the Monroe County Commissioners Monday, Dec. 4 regarding road repair access right of way agreements but spent the majority of the meeting trying to negotiate ways to keep the roads safe despite the lack of funding afforded by the new budget.

Isaly, Circosta nab top honors in East District

River senior quarterback Lukas Isaly and Monroe Central Coach Jay Circosta had remarkable seasons this fall and were recognized for their achievements as the Associated Press released its East District released its all-star football teams last week.

The players and coaches selected for the all-star teams were voted on by media representatives from throughout the East District.
