Monroe County families will soon have another option for fun as Russell Family Bowling Center will open Gram’s Putt Around this weekend outside the bowling alley.

Anthony McDaniel is sworn in as the newest member of the Woodsfield Village Council Friday, May 19. McDaniel will fill the seat vacated by Misty Tolzda, who resigned in April to become the village’s fiscal officer.

Anthony McDaniel, of Woodsfield, was named as the newest member of the Woodsfield Village Council Thursday, May 18.

McDaniel fills the Council seat that was vacated by Misty Tolzda last month.

It all started with a quarter and a dime.

In 2008, then Beallsville High School sophomore Molly Welch didn’t have much money on her, but what she had she wanted to contribute to the school’s Rally for Life drive.

David William Minor, 77, of Edinboro, Pennsylvania, died Friday, May 19, 2017, at Western Reserve Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center in Erie.

He was born in New Martinsville, West Virginia, on Dec. 2, 1939, the son of the late Clifford and Ethel Minor.

Doris J. Nething, age 83, of Clarington, died Tuesday, May 16, 2017, at her home.

She was born Aug. 12, 1933, in Proctor, West Virginia, the daughter of the late William and Pearl J. McLaughlin Stiles.

American Legion Post #760, Hannibal, OH, Memorial Day Services begin at 10 a.m. followed by picnic at the post. Horseshoes, cornhole, and live music in the afternoon. Open to the public.
