“I was out here 21 years ago,” said Switzerland of Ohio Schools District Treasurer Connie Kress during a tour of Swiss Hills Career Center at the Feb. 13 school board meeting. “This place hasn’t changed in 21 years.”

Monroe County could have a much clearer Geographic Information System (GIS) map this year thanks to a team effort spearheaded by Monroe County Tax Map Supervisor Corey Stollar, Auditor Pandora Neuhart and Engineer Amy Zwick.

K-9 Unit Receives $2,500 Donation

The Monroe County Sheriff’s Department will get a boost for its K-9 unit after receiving a $2,500 donation from Blue Racer Midstream and Cayman Energy II. The companies chose to fund the K-9 unit because it helps the entire community and also to show their support for the Sheriff Department’s efforts in fighting drugs in the county.

Scam Warning

Beacon reader Greg Alls, who resides near Graysville, warned that he and a neighbor had both received a scam letter from someone calling themselves Annual Business Services. The letter looks very official, and Alls believes it is being sent to people who have formed an LLC.
