A Memorial for K-9 Deputy Nemo will be held Sunday, Nov. 18 at the Woodsfield Church of Christ at 860 Lewisville Rd., Woodsfield. Visitation will be held from 1 to 4 p.m. The service will follow visitation at 4 p.m. The memorial will be open to anyone wishing to give their last respects to K-9 Deputy Nemo.

Airman 1st Class Safreed Graduates Basic Training

    Air Force Reserve Airman 1st Class Brice A. Safreed graduated from basic military training at Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland, San Antonio, Texas.
    The airman completed an intensive, eight-week program that included training in military discipline and studies, Air Force core values, physical fitness, and basic warfare principles and skills.

Vale Reed

    Vale Astaire Reed, age 81, of Mansfield, died Monday, November 17, 2014 at Country Meadow Care Center in Bellville.
    Vale was born on February 2, 1933 in Woodsfield, OH, the son of the late Amos Frank and Ethel Mildred (Kindelberger) Reed. He was a 1953 graduate of Plymouth High School where he played on the first Plymouth Pilgrims football team.

Eunice Capper

    Eunice Amanda Capper, 105, passed away on November 15 at the Canton Christian Home.  She was born August 14, 1909, in Clarington, Ohio to Charles and Victoria Boetticher.

    Katherine Fay Fielding, 100, of Zanesville, a former resident of Powhatan Point and Alledonia, passed away November 13, 2014 in Cedar Hill Care Center, Zanesville, Ohio. She was born August 10, 1914 near Alledonia, a daughter of the late William Madison and Mary Blanche Pugh Biles.

Jack Hammond, Sr.

    Jack R. Hammond, Sr., 80 formerly of Woodsfield, Ohio died Saturday, November 15, 2014 at his home in Concord, North Carolina. He was born May 22, 1934 in Businessburg, Ohio, a son of the late Asbury Hammond and Mildred Warner Hammond.

    James Roy Warrington, 69, of Creston, passed away peacefully on Nov. 12, 2014 at Wooster Community Hospital following a lengthy illness.He was born July 3, 1945 in Steubenville and was the son of the late Roy and Elsie (Belch) Warrington.

 Shirley J. Trosch, 78 of Sardis, died November 11, 2014 at Ohio Valley Medical Center, Wheeling, WV. She was born May 9, 1936, in Gladwin, MI, a daughter of the late Joseph and Evelyn Fox Alloway.
