A Memorial for K-9 Deputy Nemo will be held Sunday, Nov. 18 at the Woodsfield Church of Christ at 860 Lewisville Rd., Woodsfield. Visitation will be held from 1 to 4 p.m. The service will follow visitation at 4 p.m. The memorial will be open to anyone wishing to give their last respects to K-9 Deputy Nemo.

A collective wail went up from the rows of elementary schoolers seated in River Campus’s gymnasium Tuesday, Nov. 6, as Jessica Takos of COSI (Center of Science and Industry) dumped two chemicals into a bucket, mixed them around, and scooped out a giant handful of green slime.

St. Paul's Church, Trail Run First Annual Camp Day a Success

    Camp day on September 27 at St. Paul's Church, Trail Run was a fun day for all who attended. Approximately 50 children from the community joined in the festivities. The day began with a nature walk led by Sylvia Bowen. Craft tables were set up and all enjoyed making bird feeders, painting/decorating rocks, learning to tie knots, and much more.

Tri-County Help Center, Inc. Annual March for Domestic Violence Awareness

    During October, National Domestic Violence Awareness Month, Tri-County Help Center is sponsoring its Annual March for Domestic Violence Awareness.     Thomas E. South Sr., 83, of Miltonsburg, passed away October 3, 2014, at the Woodsfield Nursing & Rehabilitation Center.  He was born in Woodsfield, January 8, 1931, a son of the late Curtis & Hortense Haynes South.

Deloris Knowlton

    Deloris Irene Knowlton, 91, of Woodsfield, passed away October 2, 2014, at her home surrounded by loved ones.  She was born September 7, 1923, in Wingett Run, Washington County, Ohio, a daughter of the late Oscar J. Cline and Hattie B. (Hall) Cline.

Mary Morris

    Mary Almeda Steinhoff Morris of Marietta, formerly of Shay Ridge, passed away October 1, 2014, at The Arbors surrounded by her loving family.  She was born October 11, 1931, to C.W “Billie” and Eunice Tice Steinhoff.

Barbara Biedenbach

 Barbara L. Biedenbach, 73, Lewisville, passed away September 29, 2014, at the Summit Acres Nursing Home, Caldwell, Ohio. She was born at Summerfield, on May 30, 1941, a daughter of the late Charles and Molly Barnes Barnett.
    Barbara was a retired cook at the Monroe County Care Center, Woodsfield, Ohio.
