Gary E. Piatt, 77, of Graysville, passed away Friday, Dec. 9, 2022, at the Marietta Memorial Hospital, Marietta.

He was born near Graysville, on Jan. 21, 1945, a son of the late Charles and Dora Vess Piatt.

He was a retired employee of the former Ormet Corporation, Hannibal, and was U.S. Army veteran of the Vietnam War.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Vivian Cline Piatt on Sept. 9, 2017; two brothers, Denzil and Eddie Piatt; and a step son, Bruce Marshall.

Surviving are his two daughters, Beverly (Gary) Armstrong, of Sycamore Valley, Melissa (Robert) Lanchman, of Millersburg; two sons, Jeff (Carol) Marshall, of Sycamore Valley, Doug (Lori Roser) Piatt, of Marietta; two brothers, Denver Piatt, of Woodsfield, Ronald Piatt, of Ravenna; six grandchildren, Tiffany Howard, Whitney Marshall, Hannah Piatt, Alyxandria Morris, Amber (Rusty) West, Nicole (Brian) Hesson, Eric (Emma) Marshall; five great-grandchildren, Halle Jo Simmons, Emersyn Howard, Lainie Russ, Casey Russ, Shelby Hesson Sophia, Cecelia, Isabella; several nieces and nephews.

Friends were received Wednesday, Dec. 14, 2022, at the Watters Funeral Home, 37501 State Route 78 West, Woodsfield, where funeral and military services were held Thursday, Dec. 15, 2022 with Pastor Jim Porter officiating.

Burial followed in the Pleasant Ridge Cemetery near Graysville.
