Gary L. Holland, 73, of Woodsfield, passed away Tuesday, Sept. 26, 2023, at his home.

He was born in Marietta on Sept. 26, 1950, a son of the late Clifford Dale Holland and Bessie Kuhn Holland.

Gary was a retired employee of the former Ormet Corp., Hannibal, and was a U.S. Army veteran of the Vietnam Era.

Gary enjoyed hunting, motorcycle riding, toys, watching westerns, spending time with family and making people laugh.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sons, James Allen Holland and Christopher Michael Holland; two brothers, John and Kenneth Holland and two sisters, Hazel Stark and Evelyn Phillips.

Surviving are his wife, Janet Davis Holland, whom he married on Nov. 19, 1969; one daughter, Kimberly Holland, of Tusky; one son, Timothy (Suzanne) Holland, of New Martinsville, West Virginia; nine grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren and one great-grandson.

Friends were received Friday, Sept. 29, 2023, at the Watters Funeral Home, 37501 State Route 78 West, Woodsfield, where military and funeral services were held Saturday, Sept. 30, 2023, with Scott McFarland officiating.

Burial followed in the Liberty Cemetery near Lebanon.
