Helen Larew, 76, of Malaga, passed away peacefully at her home on Friday, Aug. 12, 2022, surrounded by her family.

She was born Jan. 16, 1946, near Malaga, a daughter of the late Fred and Betty Persons Vaness.

“Mammy,” as Helen was lovingly referred to by everyone who knew her, was happiest when she was spending time with family and extended family, watching her grandchildren’s sporting events and watching the Cleveland Indians.

Left to cherish her memory are her loving husband of 51 years, Ross; her children, Betty (Chunk) Hudson, Amy (Dennis) Carpenter and Bubba Larew; four grandchildren, Bode, Baylee, Breelyn and Krede; also many friends including Shannon Anderson.

Helen was a mother of three and grandmother of five, however she has been a “Mom” and “Mammy” to countless others throughout the

years.

In addition to her parents, Helen was preceded in death earlier this year by her grandson, Dusty Wilcox, on April 15.

Visitation was held Tuesday, Aug. 16, 2022, at the Wilson Funeral Home, Harper Chapel, Beallsville, where funeral services were held Wednesday, Aug. 17, 2022. Burial followed in Boston Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers and keepsakes, Helen’s family requests that memorial contributions be made to “Beallsville Rally for Life,” c/o Kathy Rees, 41515 North Park Dr., Beallsville, OH 43716.
