Henry E. Williams, 90 of Flushing, Ohio, passed away on Saturday, September 14, 2024, at Astoria Place of Barnesville, Ohio. He was born in Flushing on December 7, 1933, the son of the late Thoburn Williams and Josephine Walter Williams.
He retired as a bus driver and mechanic for Union Local School District after 47 years of service. He also worked for Consol as a mechanic for 10 years and owned his own service stations for many years. Prior to being a business owner, Henry served in the Army, serving as the company clerk. Henry loved the Lord, his church, his family and his community. Henry was a beloved husband, brother, father and “Pappy” to his family. He was an elder of Flushing Christian Missionary Alliance Church and an active member of Flushing Ruritan and Flushing Alumni Association.
In his free time, Henry was a sports fan who loved watching the Cleveland Indians play baseball. He was also an avid country music fan and appreciated a good old Western television show or movie. He also enjoyed golfing, bowling and spending time with his loved ones. He will be greatly missed by all that loved and knew him.
In addition to his parents, Henry was preceded in death by his wife Melissa; an infant daughter Dora Jean; sisters, Louise Nimon, Alice Scott, Carrie Holstein, Arvella Michniak and brother Donald Williams. He was also preceded in death by infant great-grandsons, Wayde and Roinin Williams.
Left to cherish his memory is a son, Dr. Raymond “Randy” (Dana) Williams; daughter Lydia “Dee Dee” (Tom) Rutter; grandchildren Anthony (Natasha) Williams, April (Austin) Archer, Brandon (Emily) Rutter, Taylor Rutter and Kenedi Williams; great-grandchildren, Waylon and Tiernan Williams, Trinity and Maycee Mejia, Miles, Chevy and Raylan Archer, Madelyn and Lucille Rutter. Also surviving are sisters Edna Heade and Irene Zwick.
Friends and family will be received from 11 a.m. until time of the service at 1 p.m., Thursday, September 19, 2024, at Flushing Christian Missionary Alliance Church, 431 East High Street, Flushing, with Pastor Nathan McKeen officiating. A burial will follow at Rock Hill Cemetery Flushing with Minister Wayne Clark performing graveside services. Henry will be laid to rest with full military honors provided by Beallsville and Flushing American Legion posts.
