James H. Ollom, 93 of Beallsville, passed away Thursday, Sept. 1, 2022, at the Stellar Care Center, Woodsfield.
He was born in Clarington on July 5, 1929, a son of the late Jay and Rosella Fisher Ollom.
He retired from Union Carbide at St. Marys, West Virginia. He was a member of the Immanuel United Church of Christ in Clarington, was a U.S. Army Veteran, serving in England when Queen Elizabeth was crowned, and member of the Beallsville American Legion. He loved farming and gardening.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Romaine Walters Ollom in 1994, and a sister, Dorothy Ollom Henderson.
He is survived by his wife, Genevieve Ollom, of Beallsville; four children, David B. (Becky) Ollom, of Crosslanes, West Virginia, Jane (Bernard) Haines, of Woodsfield, Kenneth (Debra) Ollom, of New Martinsville, West Virginia, and Mark D. Ollom, of Kent; two stepchildren, Lavada Jordan and Richard Littleton; grandchildren, Carrie (Casey) Cox, Ryan (Trista) Haines, Rebecca Jo (Paul) Hughes, Lee-Anne (Jonathan) Peck, and Erik (Marie) Ollom; great-grandchildren, Cole Leasure, Macie Cox, Jonah Haines and Owen Haines, Abby Ollom, Erica Ollom, Amber, Christian, Luke and Lily Hughes; and several nieces and nephews.
Friends were received Saturday, Sept. 3, 2022, at the Bauer-Turner Funeral Home, Woodsfield, where funeral services were held Sunday, Sept. 4, 2022, with Pastor William Stokes officiating. Burial followed in the Clarington Cemetery,
Clarington.
