JAN BEISEL

 Jan Allyn Beisel, 82, of Barberton, OH passed away peacefully at Akron General Hospital on September 3 after an extended illness. He was surrounded by his loving family.
 He was born on August 12, 1943 in Canton, OH and moved with his family to Sardis, OH in 1957. Jan graduated from River High School in 1961 and shortly after enlisted in the U.S. Army. While in the Army, he served in Germany as a chemical specialist in 1963.
 Jan was the son of the late Harry and Alma Beisel of Sardis OH. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three of his brothers, Duane Beisel of Louisville, OH; Robert Beisel of Sardis, OH and Larry Beisel of Canton, OH.
 Survivors include his companion of 33 years, Caroline Zwick of Barberton, OH; son Jason Beisel of Canton, OH; daughter Jody Beisel of Morgantown, WV; brothers Bryan Beisel of St. Clairsville, OH and Bill Beisel of Sardis, OH; and several nieces and nephews.
 Jan worked most of his life at Babcock & Wilcox Corporation in Barberton, OH and retired from there. He was an avid runner and ran marathons in Boston, Alaska, and the Marine Corps Marathon in Washington DC with his brothers Bryan and Bill. Over the years he ran many other marathons nationally as well as number of the Elby’s races in Wheeling, WV.
 No services will be held. Private interment will be held at the convenience of the family. Arrangements are entrusted to Adams Mason Funeral Home of Akron, OH.
