Jane Frances (Schumacher) Landefeld, of Ann Arbor, Michigan, died peacefully at Angela Hospice on Sunday, Aug. 28, 2022, at age 75.
Jane was born on May 4, 1947, in Woodsfield, as the middle of nine children to Walter and Madeline (Pfeffer) Schumacher.
She graduated from Woodsfield High School in 1965. After living in several cities, she moved to Ann Arbor in 1976 where she lived until her passing. Landefeld worked for the Ann Arbor Public Schools for 33 years.
Jane’s passions included her family and their activities as well as gardening. Most weekends she was often on the sidelines for her families’ sporting events or working on someone’s yard. She also visited her Ohio family to stay connected with her siblings and their children. Jane was always a welcomed sight wherever she went.
Jane was preceded in death by her parents and sisters, Margaret (Schumacher) Welsh, Amy (Schumacher) Biedenbach, and brother, Michael Schumacher.
She is survived by her brothers, Daniel Schumacher, Joseph Schumacher and Samuel Schumacher and her sisters Rita (Schumacher) Biedenbach and Monica (Schumacher) Habig. Additionally, she leaves behind her two sons, Doug Landefeld, who is married to Maura Bradley with their three kids, Sam, Kellan and Siri, and Josh Landefeld, who is married to Christy (Fournier) Landefeld, with one child, Emeline.
She also leaves behind a large extended family, with whom she loved spending time. Jane’s colleagues and friends were like family to her, and she was so appreciative of their love and support.
Jane was loved, respected, and adored by many, and we know her spirit will live on in our memories. Jane’s ashes will be buried in Woodsfield’s St. Sylvester’s Cemetery near her parents. A celebration of life will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday, Nov. 25, 2022, at the Brown Center (100 Creamery St., Woodsfield, OH 43793).
