JUDITH WEISEND

 Judith Weisend, 76, passed away peacefully in her home in Arizona, on June 28, surrounded by her loved ones.
 Born and raised in Woodsfield, Ohio, Judith carried with her quiet strength, deep compassion, and a lifelong dedication to helping others. She graduated from Woodsfield High School, class of 1967 and worked in the Head Start Program. After moving to Green, Ohio, she worked in the Green School system, where she touched the lives of many students and families with her patience and care. In the later part of her career, Judith devoted herself to memory care and the Alzheimer’s Association, where she worked for Maison Aine’ from 1988-2012. She had many roles as activity director, admissions director and support group lead. Her most important role was a passionate advocate and caregiver for those affected by dementia and families struggling with disease and loss.
 In 2004, Judith retired to Arizona to be closer to her daughter and enjoy the warmth of family and sunshine in her later years. Her life was marked by selflessness, love, and a deep sense of purpose that inspired everyone around her.
 She was preceded in death by her parents, Neil and Margery Weisend, and her brothers, Donald and Richard Weisend.
 Judith is survived by her son, Chad Brown, and his wife Nicole Brown; her daughter, Kelly O’Grady, and her husband Shane O’Grady; and her three beloved grandchildren, Abigail, Raigan, and Ashley. Brother Robert Weisend and sisters Janet Hunt and Doris Mallett.
 Judith’s legacy is one of gentle kindness, enduring love, and service to others. She will be deeply missed by all who had the honor of knowing her.
 Friends will be received at the Watters Funeral Home, 37501 State Route 78, Woodsfield, Ohio on Friday, July 18, 2025 from 6-8 p.m. with vigil services at 7:30 p.m.
 Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, July 19, 2025 at St. Sylvester Catholic Church, Woodsfield, Ohio with Fr. Nick Ward as the celebrant.
 Interment will follow in the St. Sylvester Cemetery.
 A reception will follow the mass at Wisteria Inn, 108 North Street, Woodsfield, Ohio.
