D.), Wilbur Graydon Holtsclaw (last known address Rt. 4, Woodsfield, OH 43793), and Alice Boggs Holtsclaw, along with their unknown heirs, devisees, executors, administrators, relicts, next of kin, successors and assigns, if any, whose identities and addresses are all unknown; you are hereby notified that you have been named as a defendant in a legal action entitled Claugus Family Farm & Forests, L.P. v. M.F. Piatt, et al. This action has been assigned case number 2023-082 and is pending before Judge Selmon in the Court of Common Pleas of Monroe County, Ohio at 101 N. Main Street #33, Woodsfield, Ohio 43793.

The object of Plaintiff’s complaint is to obtain a court order declaring that any interest that defendants might be able to otherwise claim under a royalty conveyance recorded at Monroe County Deed Volume 30, Page 140, concerning one half of the oil and gas royalties relating to 40 acres (more or less), has been extinguished by operation of law. Plaintiff’s Complaint identifies you as a defendant having potential interest in the royalties conveyed in the referenced document.

You are hereby required to answer the Complaint within 28 days after the last publication of this notice, which will be published once each week for six successive weeks. The last publication will be made August 31, 2023 and the 28 days for answer will commence on that date.

If you fail to answer or otherwise respond as permitted by the Ohio Rules of Civil Procedure within the time state, judgment will be entered granting relief requested in the Complaint.

Applicant SWN Production (Ohio), LLC (“SWN Ohio”) hereby gives notice that the Ohio Department of Natural Resources, Division of Oil and Gas Resources Management (the “Division”), has scheduled a hearing pursuant to Revised Code Section 1509.28 concerning SWN Ohio’s Huffman B Unit to occur on Wednesday, September 6, 2023 at 11:30 a.m. The hearing will be held via video conference, as set forth below. SWN Ohio seeks to obtain an Order for Unit Operation from the Chief of the Division as to the Utica/Point Pleasant Formation covering the Huffman B Unit area. This proposed unit area includes lands in Section 5, Township 4, Range 5, Adams Township; Sections 11 and 12, Township 4, Range 5, Center Township; and Sections 2, 3, 4, 33, and 34, Township 4, Range 5, Green Township, all in Monroe County, Ohio. The surface location for the Huffman B Unit will be located in Section 11, Township 4, Range 5, Center Township, Monroe County, Ohio on Parcel Nos. 04-025007.0000 and 04-025049.0000.

Certain tracts in the Huffman B Unit area may potentially be owned, in whole or in part, by persons for whom no address can be located.  These tracts are described below by reference to their parcel numbers and their possible owners’ names: (1) Parcel No. 04-025017.0000 – Potential Owners:  Unknown Heirs or Assigns of Carrie Cox; and (2) Parcel No. 01-025030.1000 – Potential Owners:  Unknown Heirs or Assigns of Marcelene J. Election Notice

The Ohio Soil and Water Conservation Commission will cause an election of Supervisors of the Monroe Soil and Water Conservation District (SWCD) to be held in accordance with Chapter 940 of the Ohio Revised Code. Individuals who own or occupy land within the Monroe Soil and Water Conservation District and are 18 years of age or older may vote for Supervisor.

There are 4 ways an eligible voter can cast a ballot:

1.) At the SWCD office, 8:00 AM until 4:00PM, from 8/16/2023 until 9/14/2023 during normal business hours; or

2.) At the SWCD Annual Meeting, which will take place on the Monroe County Fairgrounds, in the Rowley Building on 9/14/2023 from 5:00PM until 6:00PM ; or

3.) Voting will only be available from 8:00AM until 12:00PM from August 21, 2022 through August 25, 2022, due to the Monroe County Fair. 

4.) Water rates will increase effective September 1, 2023. This will be reflected on your bills due November 6, 2023. The rates will increase 10 cents per hundred from 100 gallons to 10,000 gallons and any usage over 10,000 gallons will increase by twenty cents per hundred.

INVITATION TO BID

Sealed proposals for the Sardis Outdoor Restroom project will be received by the Monroe County Commissioners at their office, 101 North Main Street, Room 34, Woodsfield, OH 43793 until 10:00 a.m. on Monday, August 28, 2023, and then at said time at said office opened and read aloud.
