The unknown heirs, devisees, successors, and assigns of Lena Winkler (hereinafter the “Defendant”) in the above-referenced matter, whose identity, residence and/or address is unknown, shall take notice that on the 29th day of June, 2021, William L. Murphy (“Plaintiff”) filed a Complaint against said Defendant and others in the Common Pleas Court of Monroe County, Ohio, Woodsfield, OH 43793. Plaintiff seeks quiet title relief against the Defendant relating to certain real property interests located in Monroe County, Ohio.

The most recent address for the Defendant, or her identity, is unknown to Plaintiff. 

The Defendant is required to answer on or before the twenty-eighth (28th) day following the last publication of the within Notice. Said publication shall be made in this newspaper at least once a week for six (6) consecutive weeks.

To: Barbara Walton, address unknown, Wilma Rentz, address unknown, and Darlene Hall-Zehner, last unknown address 1322 W. Cindy St., Chandler, AZ 85224-5240, along with their unknown heirs, devisees, executors, administrators, relicts, next of kin and assigns, if any, whose identities and addresses are also unknown; you are hereby notified that you have been named as a defendant in a legal action entitled John J. Lusk, et al. v. Barbara Walton, et al. This action has been assigned case number 2021-336 and is pending before Judge Julie R. Selmon in the Court of Common Pleas of Monroe County, Ohio at 101 North Main Street, Woodsfield, Ohio 43793.

The object of Plaintiffs’ complaint is to obtain a court declaration that the reservation of the mineral rights in the Deed recorded at Monroe County Deed Records Volume 126, Page 521, is no longer valid or legally binding and does not encumber any oil and gas rights to the property identified in the Deed; and to obtain a court order quieting title to said severed mineral interest in the name of the Plaintiffs.

You are required to answer the Complaint within 28 days after the last publication of this notice, which will be published once a week for six successive weeks. The last publication will be made Sept. 1, 2022 and the 28 days for answer will commence on that date.

If you fail to answer or otherwise respond as permitted by the Ohio Rules of Civil Procedure within the time stated, judgment will be entered granting the relief requested in the Complaint.

Election Notice

The Ohio Soil and Water Conservation Commission will cause an election of Supervisors of the Monroe Soil and Water Conservation District (SWCD) to be held in accordance with Chapter 940 of the Ohio Revised Code. Individuals who own or occupy land within the Monroe Soil and Water Conservation District and are 18 years of age or older may vote for Supervisor.

There are 4 ways an eligible voter can cast a ballot:

1.) At the SWCD office, 8:00 AM until 4:00PM, from 8/17/2022 until 9/15/2022 during normal business hours; or

2.) At the SWCD Annual Meeting, which will take place on the Monroe County Fairgrounds, in the Rowley Building on 9/15/2022 from 5:00PM until 6:00PM ; or

3.) Voting will only be available from 8:00AM until 12:00PM from August 22, 2022 through August 26, 2022, due to the Monroe County Fair. 

4.) Voting absentee from 8/17/2022 until 9/15/2022, by requesting the ballot application and election ballot from the SWCD office at the following address 46762 SR 26 Woodsfield, Oh 43793, by calling 740-472-5477, or email monroecoswcd@gmail.com. Absentee ballots must be received by the SWCD office by 9/15/2022 at 4:00PM.

NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING

Switzerland Township Road TR 2788

The Board of Monroe County Commissioners will meet on Monday, August 22, 2022 at 10 a.m. for a Public Hearing to discuss the Resolution received from the Switzerland Township Trustees to partially vacate township road TR 2788 (767 feet to be vacated, beginning at the Switzerland of Ohio Local School district bus turn-around to the existing terminal point of TR 2788).

The Commissioners will meet for a public hearing at the office of said County Commissioners, 101 N. Main Street, Room 34, Woodsfield, OH at 10 a.m. for all persons whose interests could be affected by said partial vacation of roadway.
