To William Cottrell and Mae Cottrell, addresses unknown, along with their unknown heirs, devisees, executors, administrators, relicts, next of kin, successors and assigns, if any, whose identities and addresses are unknown; you are hereby notified that you have been named as defendants in a legal action entitled Claugus Family Farm, L.P. v. Gulfport Energy Corporation. This action has been assigned Case Number CVH 2019-309 and is pending before Judge Julie R. Selmon in the Court of Common Pleas of Monroe County, Ohio at 101 North Main Street, Room 33, Woodsfield, Ohio 43793.
The object of Plaintiff’s complaint is to obtain a court declaration that Claugus Family Farm, L.P. successfully worked an abandonment of any interest held by William Cottrell and/or Mae Cottrell pursuant to the Dormant Mineral Act of 2006; that William Cottrell and Mae Cottrell, and anyone claiming through them, have no rights or interests under a reservation set forth at Monroe County Deed Volume 108, Page 535 in the subject property; and that Claugus Family Farm, L.P. is entitled to any oil and gas royalties generated from the acreage it owns that might previously have otherwise been payable to William Cottrell or Mae Cottrell, or someone claiming through them, based upon the reservation.
You are required to answer the Complaint within 28 days after the last publication of this notice, which will be published once a week for six successive weeks. The last publication will be made Nov. 21, 2019 and the 28 days for answer will commence on that date.
If you fail to answer or otherwise respond as permitted by the Ohio Rules of Civil Procedure within the time stated, judgment will be entered by granting the relief requested in the Complaint.

The Monroe County Park District (MCPD) is seeking expressions of interest from local attorneys to serve as legal counsel to the park district beginning January 1, 2020. This position has traditionally been under a retainer for annual routine services. These services include, but are not limited to issues with deeds and land transfers, occasional correspondence advice on issues concerning the district and in recent years a fair amount of oil/gas related work. The Monroe County Park District meets on the first Tuesday of each month at the district office located in Woodsfield. Expressions of interest and resumes are due by November 1, 2019.
