A few local area schools have announced honor roll listings for the third nine weeks of the academic school year. They are as follows:
Children in Monroe County are unable to go to school at the moment – so they are invited to go on a “Bear Hunt!”

River High School hosted its annual Inquizitive Competition on March 12. The academic competition consisted of sixteen teams from six high schools. Each team participated in round robin play in the morning, with the top teams from each of the four pools making it to the afternoon for a single elimination tournament. This year, the River Pilots team won the championship against Beallsville High School.
GMN Tri-County CAC, Inc, in conjunction with Ohio Association of Community Action Agencies, will provide to senior citizens of Monroe and Noble Counties shelf stable meals.

Ryan E. Shook has graduated from Logan University in Missouri with a Doctorate of Chiropractic degree.
The Ebert Brothers Family & Friends Spring Show, which was to be held Saturday, March 28 at the Lincoln Theater in New Martinsville, West Virginia, has been canceled due to concerns of the spreading of the COVID-19 virus.
Eight-year-old missionary kid, Anabel May Vance, granddaughter of Juanita (Winland) Bowman and great-granddaughter of Ila May (Howell) Winland, is reading her favorite Uncle Bronson Bernard’s favorite newspaper, The Monroe County Beacon, to all her Spanish friends in Colombia, South America.
