Powhatan Elementary School recently released its honor roll for the third nine weeks.
Harry and Connie Christman, of State Route 800, will celebrate their Golden Anniversary on April 18. The couple have three children (Matthew, Angela and Mark) and 11 grandchildren, all residing in the Columbus and Lancaster areas. They began dating while attending River High School and were married on April 18, 1970 at Unity Baptist Church. Harry, a Vietnam War veteran, and Connie still reside in the house they built together in 1971.

Children in Monroe County are unable to go to school at the moment – so they are invited to go on a “Bear Hunt!”

River High School hosted its annual Inquizitive Competition on March 12. The academic competition consisted of sixteen teams from six high schools. Each team participated in round robin play in the morning, with the top teams from each of the four pools making it to the afternoon for a single elimination tournament. This year, the River Pilots team won the championship against Beallsville High School.
GMN Tri-County CAC, Inc, in conjunction with Ohio Association of Community Action Agencies, will provide to senior citizens of Monroe and Noble Counties shelf stable meals.
