Monroe Theatre News 11/9/17

It is said that history repeats itself and such was the case Halloween night when the Monroe Theatre Committee and Monroe Arts Council hosted a square dance following the Halloween Parade on the square with the Monroe Theatre as its backdrop. Unbeknownst to the organizers of the dance, this was a tradition as far back as 1930 in Woodsfield, a fact discovered by Joyce Wiggins of the Monroe County Historical Society (MCHS) the day of the event in The Spirit of Democracy dated Nov. 5, 1930. This is just one way the Theatre Committee will continue to utilize and incorporate the Theatre
