Celebrating a lifetime of public service

After 83 years of age and almost as many in public service, Monroe County’s Bill Moore still has a twinkle in his eye and a joke on his tongue.

“All my life I’ve only been interested in public service,” he said.

Former Woodsfield Sheriff and Mayor E.D. Taylor, Moore’s grandfather and role model, inspired him to wear all the hats he has worn through the years, and this year he is taking one off. After 28 years of service as the Democratic Central Committeeman, Moore is finally retiring from that position.
