Community asked to help shape the Wayne for the next 15 years

What would you like to have in the Wayne National Forest?

Hiking, horse riding or ATV trails?

Continued oil and gas exploration or increased environmental protection?

Whatever it is you would like to see, Wayne National Forest officials want your opinions regarding the future of the forest.

Wayne National Forest officials held the first forest plan revision meeting Wednesday, April 4 at the Monroe County Senior Center.

“Every forest has a forest plan,” said Gary Chancey, public affairs officer for the Wayne National Forest. “This is a guiding document. It includes cutting timber and oil and gas extraction. It will help shape the future of the forest and how it will be used.”
