Lois Eileen Stephen, 96, of Barnesville passed away on Friday, August 9, 2024, at her daughter Karen’s home. She was born on September 27, 1927, in Malaga, Ohio, to the late Charles and Mary (Buckio) Hunkler.
Lois was a 1945 graduate of Beallsville High School. After high school, she attended Ohio State School of Cosmetology and owned and operated a beauty shop in Barnesville until the late 1950s. Lois was an active member of St. John the Baptist Parish and in later years attended the Assumption Catholic Church in Barnesville.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Stephen; and sister, Eunice Gallagher.
Lois is survived by her children, Tim (Nancy Kasunic) Stephen, Tom (Becky) Stephen, Karen Carpenter, and Lisa (Sam) Lucas; grandchildren, Amy (Keith) Kappel, Sara (Jason) Norris, Anna Lucas, Kaitlyn Carpenter, Alexandra (Chris) Durigg, Jenna (Coleton) Lindamood, Philip Stephen; great-grandchildren, Xander Gibson, Beckham Norris, Kayla Kappel, Jovie Lindamood, and Wylie Lindamood.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, August 14, 2024, from 4 p.m. until the time of the Rosary Service at 7:30 p.m. at Campbell-Plumly-Milburn Funeral Home, 319 North Chestnut Street, Barnesville, Ohio. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, August 15, 2024, at 11 a.m. with Father Nicholas Ward as celebrant at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Miltonsburg, Ohio. Burial will follow at Oaklawn Cemetery in Woodsfield, Ohio.
