MARGARET BURKHART

 Margaret Burkhart, longtime resident of Columbus, passed away on November 21 at the age of 94. Marge was born of immigrant Croatian and Hungarian families, was a devout, lifelong Catholic. Marge was a humble person who loved her very large family, many friends, and all God’s creatures. She was widowed in 1967 by the sudden death of her husband, Charles who was originally from Tempranceville, Ohio, and was also preceded in death by five brothers and their spouses and five Burkhart brothers-/sisters-in-law and their spouses. She is survived by her sister Marcella, daughter Jeanne (Steve) and Chuck (Jenny), 17 grandchildren, and 17 great-grandchildren. She was blessed with many lifelong friends, especially Iris Higgins (Lenny from Tempranceville, deceased). Marge worked her entire life beginning on the family farm, and in the early 1950s owned the Corner Grill (Malaga, Ohio), with her husband and brother-in-law Herman Burkhart (Hilda). Her showing and Mass of Christian burial will be held at St. Catharine in Columbus, Ohio, and can be viewed during and after the time on Youtube by searching St. Catharine, Columbus.
