Mary E. (Divine) Bauer, 69, of Woodsfield, Ohio, passed away Saturday, January 13, 2024, at her home surrounded by her family. She was born in Columbus, Ohio, January 22, 1954, a daughter of the late Lloyd E. and Ann L. Beh Divine.
She was a 1972 graduate of Bishop Hartley High School in Columbus. She was a very active member of the New Life Church of Woodsfield for several years. She and her husband ran a construction business during the 1980s and in the late 1980s she was the editor for the Ohio Valley Trader. She attended Belmont Technical College from 2003 to 2004.
Mary was a devoted wife and a loving and caring mother to her children. She never met a stranger and was a great communicator and had a giving heart. She had a curious mind and wanted to learn different things including playing the guitar and fiddle. She loved animals including her pets, Peanut, Robbie, and Izzie.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one brother, James Divine.
She is survived by her husband of 50 years Raymond Bauer of Woodsfield, two sons, David (Kim) Bauer of Fuquay-Varina, N.C., and Brian (Jennifer) Bauer of Pickerington, Ohio, and daughter Meagan (Samuel) Ward of Woodsfield, three brothers, Robert (Jeanne) Divine of Pickerington, Lloyd (Beth) Divine of Venice, Fla., and John Divine of Orient, Ohio, two sisters, Sylvia (John) Piatt of Piqua, Ohio, and Nancy (Patrick) Lees of Hanahan, S.C. and known as MiMi by her four grandchildren, Tristden (Cassie) Bauer, Riley Bauer, Makena Bauer, and Zander Ward, and great-grandchildren Emma and Adalyn Bauer.
Friends received from 2 p.m. until time of funeral service at 4 p.m. Saturday, January 20, 2024, at Bauer-Turner Funeral Home, 100 S. Paul St., Woodsfield with Pastors Gordon Bippus and Danny Bauer officiating. Interment at the convenience of the family.
