Mary Ellen Wiseman, age 82, of Sardis, passed away Thursday, Oct. 13, 2022, at Ruby Memorial Hospital, Morgantown, West Virginia.

She was born Oct. 21, 1939, in Barton, the daughter of the Emil Howard and Ada (Henry) Rouse.

Mary Ellen was retired from the Cleveland Board of Education with 30 years of service and a member of the Living Water Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Vernon Eugene Wiseman Sr.; a sister, Margene Beisel; and two brothers-inlaw, Bob Beisel and Junie Potts; sister-in-law, Karen Rouse.

Survivors include a son, Vernon Eugene (Liz) Wiseman Jr., of Chapel Hill, Tennessee; two grandson, Tyler and Brandon; three brothers, Wayne Rouse, Elwood (Sandra) Rouse, both of Sardis, and Ellis (Nathilia “Cookie”) Rouse, of Moundsville, West Virginia; two sisters, Marjorie Potts, of Hannibal, and Patsy (Jerry) Ward, of Sardis.

The family received friends on Monday, Oct. 17, 2022, at the Living Water Baptist Church, 37453 State Route 7, Sardis, with Jason Ward officiating.

Interment followed in Mount Olive Cemetery, Sardis.
