Mary “Terri” Gordon 87 of Woodsfield, passed away Monday, Jan. 2, 2023, at Arbors of Woodsfield.

She was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, May 21, 1935, a daughter of the late Richard and Eleanor Byrne Vogel.

She was a member of St. Sylvester Catholic Church; she taught classes for Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA) and was a Eucharistic Minister. She had taught cooking and nutrition classes for Monroe County residents, was a substitute bus driver for the Switzerland of Ohio School District, and served many years on the Monroe County Housing Authority.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Edward Gordon Sr.; daughter, Deborah Ann Gordon; two infant grandchildren, Elizabeth Ann and Gregory Allan; and two brothers, Richard and Thomas.

She is survived by her children, Paul (Cindy) Gordon Jr., of Woodsfield, Margaret “Peggy” (Wayne) Devereux ,of Lusby, Maryland, Kathleen (Howard) Thomas, of Woodsfield, Tim Gordon, of Wheeling, West Virginia, Matthew (Angela) Gordon, of Woodsfield, and Steve (Tammey) Gordon, of Woodsfield; 16 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.

Friends will be received from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 5, 2023, at Bauer-Turner Funeral Home, 100 S. Paul St., Woodsfield.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Friday, Jan. 6, 2023, at the St. Sylvester Catholic Church, Woodsfield, with Fr. Timothy Davison as celebrant. Burial will follow in the St. Sylvester Catholic Church Cemetery.

Praying of the Holy Rosary will be at 7:30 p.m. Thursday evening, Jan. 5, 2023, at the funeral home.
