MICHAEL WAYNE MOZENA

Michael Wayne Mozena, 51, of Powhatan Point, a loving husband, son, brother and uncle, passed away unexpectedly on May 16, 2020, at his home.

Michael was born on Nov. 21, 1968, a son of Vic and Millie Mozena, of Woodsfield.

Michael had many careers over the years that he loved and put his whole heart into. The one that gave him the most pleasure was being involved with the bowling leagues. He was the secretary and associate manager for the local bowling association and recently elected to be the State District 3 Director. He was also involved in coaching the next generation of bowlers by helping with the junior leagues.

Michael worked for Williams Lea of Wheeling, West Virginia, was the owner/operator of M&J Sound Services, member of St. John’s United Church of Christ and was a 1987 graduate of Woodsfield High School and Swiss Hills Vocational School with an accounting certificate. His other passions were his love for his family, cats and Disney. He was one of the first members of the TMSM group on FB. He spent years helping them plan the meet ups and running the page. The group’s favorite part was his daily trivia questions.

On Oct. 25, 2003, Michael married the love of his life, Jennipher. They shared a love of Disney, bowling and cats. They spent their marriage with their family and friends showering them with love.

In addition to his wife and parents, Michael is survived by sister, Michelle (Randy) Christman, of Woodsfield; brother-in-law, Chuck (Catherine) Halpin, of Silver Spring, Maryland; in-laws, Bernard and Sharon Halpin, of Washington, Pennsylvania; nieces and nephews, Chloe, Madeline, Raelyn, Sydnee, Jackson, Sam, Katie and Kasen; and beloved pet, Elsa.
